Monique MosesMonique Moses is an actor and choreographer from Toronto, Canada. She began her dance career as a teenager studying ballet, tap and jazz, then quickly switched to a focus in hip hop and funk styles, training extensively with choreographers Jae Blaze (Black Eyed Peas) and Luther Brown (SYTYCD Canada). She can be seen dancing in commercials for the Dairy Farmers of Ontario and the Hot Docs film festival, music videos for Kevin Lyttle and Robbie Williams, corporate performances for Pepsi and Kia Motors and choreographer’s showcases The Choreographer’s Ball, Dance Immersion and Monsters of Hip Hop.
Now based in New York, Monique (attempts) to split her time equally between her two loves of dance and acting. When not teaching and choreographing for RiSE, Monique can be found in a house class at Broadway Dance Center or Jazzy J's pop n' lock class at Peridance- her two favorite styles to learn, dance and teach. She is also an avid improvisor, and plays in venues around the city with her indie Improv troupe Day Camp Kids.
Paul JochicoHip hop has always been a big part of my life growing up in New York, the birthplace of the movement. I was amazed at how passionate the artists were in expressing their raw emotions to the beat, and the Spartan-like mentality that comes with being in a crew and entering battles. I developed my dance skills as a teenager performing with a crew and learning fundamental principles of hip hop. In college, I added formal technique from other styles like Latin and Modern, through classes at Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey. This has given me a greater appreciation for dance, and the fluidity of adding components of other genres to hip hop.
It has been wonderful seeing the “RiSE” of hip hop awareness today, through reality TV competitions, movies, and international music (Kpop!). As a teacher and choreographer with RiSE, I continue to push myself and my students to go outside of their comfort zone and learn something new about themselves and hip hop. I would describe my style like water, always changing in form but still pure to its bonds.
Kirill KuznetsovGrowing up in Brooklyn, New York dance has always had a part in my life.To me dance is everything it is a stress relief, a creative outlet, and one of my greatest passions. I started exploring and learning the Hip Hop style as a teenager from watching choreography videos and mimicking the movements. Not having the opportunity to regularly attend dance classes I would spend late nights and endless hours in the garage practicing. Taking a break from dance for a little while and served in the military for 5 years, but dancing was still in my heart. On our down time when we got to relax I would put my ipod in my ears and just feel the music and start dancing. After moving back to New York I began taking hip hop classes to catch up on the time missed and pursue my love for dance. I would describe my style as being sharp and hard hitting at the same time. As a choreographer I am always trying to learn and incorporate movements that are outside of my element pushing myself to become a better dancer as well as helping students develop their dance skills. Being with RISE has given me the opportunity to share my passion for dance with others and to learn other styles from the other great choreographers that I get to work with. Aside from dancing and choreographing for RISE I attend Hunter College with a minor in the dance program
